Nedbank Direct EFT API is a swift and secure method for processing online transactions without the need to input your card or bank account information. With Nedbank Direct EFT payment API there is no longer a need to disclose your banking details to e-commerce sites. All you need is your profile username and password, and you can authenticate the transaction right on your banking app. It is a safe and secure means of making digital payments.
In line with the South African Reserve Bank's (SARB) Vision 2025, Nedbank has initiated its Open Banking venture – Nedbank Direct EFT payment API. Nedbank Direct EFT payment API is a fresh payment approach introduced by Nedbank for Ozow customers. This solution eliminates the requirement for clients to utilise remote banking credentials for payment purposes. Instead, they can employ their profile username and password as their bank identifier and their banking app for authorisation.

2. Consumers will then be redirected to Nedbank online banking services and requested to sign in with their Nedbank internet banking username and password.

No, Ozow will aggregate funds on your behalf and settlement will occur once a day. This will be done at 15:00 on weekdays and 08:00 on Saturdays. No Settlement happens done on Sundays or Public Holidays.
Yes, merchants can opt out of using NedbankDirect EFT API. It is however important to understand that your customers will not be able to complete payments using Nedbank as the bank will not be shown as an option on the Ozow Payment flow. In order to opt out of using Nedbank API, please send an email to support@ozow.com informing us that you wish to opt out of Nedbank Direct EFT API.
No, there is no additional integration required, as we have incorporated the Nedbank Direct EFT API into our payment flow.
This option is currently unavailable; however, we will allow direct settlement of funds for Nedbank transactions soon.
As with our standard Pay by Bank product, these transactions and statuses are updated in real time on the Ozow Merchant dashboard.
